Nakyree & Jaida’s Intimate Colorado Elopement


Nakyree and Jaida chose love, intimate simplicity, and intention when they decided to elope in the breathtaking landscapes of Monument, Colorado. They rented an Airbnb tucked among the trees, creating the perfect atmosphere for a deeply personal celebration. With the mountains as their requested photo backdrop, the couple exchanged heartfelt vows surrounded by their closest friends and family. The evening unfolded into a candlelit, handcrafted dinner beautifully prepared and served by Six Star Chef.  An unforgettable ending to a day filled with love, warmth, and mountain magic.

How they chose to elope:

I. Took Bride & Groom Photos first

Nakyree & Jaida really wanted to highlight the Colorado mountains in their bride & groom photos so I made sure to head out to Monument, Colorado to location scout a spot close enough to their Airbnb with a lake, mountain view, and even some late blooming Colorado sunflowers.

II. Rented out an Airbnb for their ceremony & reception

The Airbnb they rented was the backdrop for their ceremony where they exchanged vows surrounded by their close friends and family. They had their family and friends in suits and the color sage which paired with their beautiful decor of roses, baby's breath, and sage colored accents.

III. Intimate candlelit dinner

Dinner by candlelight just evokes romance, intimacy, and warmth and Nakyree and Jaida's gave just that. They laughed, cried, and reveled in love and community while enjoying some amazing sea bass and steak with their signature cocktails, a cucumber jalapeño margarita & a woodword reserved bourbon.


There truly is something special and humbling about capturing candle lit dinners. You can feel the joy and warmth radiating from every smile to every cheer.

I have such a strong connection to this state as a creative. This is where my late father, who was also an artist, sculpted one of the first statues featuring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Emmitt Till, my fathers passion for social justice, art and creativity spoke life not only into my art but also my philosophy as an artist & photographer.
